About This Trailer

Purpose-Built
Off-Road
Capability

This is a BRX X-Series overland camper trailer — a purpose-built, off-road capable rig that was put into service as a rental unit through Southeast Overland Adventures and has been well-maintained and professionally serviced throughout its life.

The trailer sleeps 2 adults in the main cabin on a queen-size mattress with 4" of foam padding, plus 3–4 children in the Freespirit Recreation roof top tent. It's loaded with premium systems including a Dometic Air Conditioning unit with heat pump, 3,500W onboard generator, 120W solar, dual Optima deep-cycle batteries, instant hot water shower, and a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen.

On the trail, the Timbren axle-less suspension system, 275/70 R17 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, 21" of ground clearance, and Max Coupler multi-axis hitch give this trailer the articulation and durability to go where you want to go — and the comfort to stay there.

The trailer comes with a complete gear package including a Coleman Cascade camp stove with griddles, Joolca Ensuite Double shower and privacy tent, Mountain Summit Gear roll-top grill table, camp tools, leveling jacks, and more (see full list below).

The Full Story

Museum-Quality
Rebuild —
Boat-Grade
Materials

The body of this trailer underwent a complete frame-up rebuild throughout all of 2023 — not a repair, not a patch job, but a full deconstruction and reconstruction of both side walls and the roof using the same premium materials found in high-end wooden boat construction.

The result is an interior that looks and feels like a classic Chris-Craft wooden boat: warm amber-toned wood grain under glass-smooth varnish, built to a standard you simply won't find in any production trailer. Every surface that was reconstructed is sealed with a fully bonded epoxy-and-varnish system — moisture cannot penetrate the wood.

Plywood Custom-sourced birch plywood from North Carolina — selected for grain consistency and dimensional stability
Stain General Finishes Dye Stain — deeply penetrating stain that enhances the natural character of the birch
Epoxy West System 207-SB Epoxy Resin — a marine-grade, slow-cure epoxy used by wooden boat builders (think Chris-Craft). Applied to all surfaces to fully seal and waterproof the wood from the inside out
Topcoat Petit Flagship Varnish 2015 — a high-build marine topcoat applied over the epoxy for UV protection, a deep gloss finish, and a second line of waterproof defense
Full material receipts and records totaling $15,366.60 are available for review by any serious buyer.

Important — Please Read

Full Structural
Disclosure

I believe in complete transparency with buyers. The following structural issue is disclosed upfront and in full. Please read before inquiring.

The Issue
The original design of this trailer attached the bottom of both side walls directly to the trailer floor via screws threading into wood. Over time and use, this wood-to-wood connection proved insufficient and the lower portion of both side walls separated from the floor.
The Repair
Two sections of 1" × 2.5" × 0.12" wall carbon steel rectangular tube (32" and 43.5" long) were installed flat along the interior floor, one on each side. Both side walls are fastened to the steel tube with stainless steel screws driven from the outside edge of each wall into the tube — creating a steel-to-wood mechanical connection in place of the original wood-to-wood joint.
Ongoing Maintenance Requirement
The connection forms a tight fit between the wall and tube, but the stainless steel fasteners should be inspected and re-tightened periodically as part of routine trailer maintenance. This is disclosed as an ongoing ownership responsibility.
What You Should Know
  • The repair is visible from inside the cabin and has not been hidden or concealed in any way
  • The trailer has been used for rentals following the repair with no further issues
  • Any prospective buyer is encouraged and welcome to inspect the repair in person prior to purchase
  • I will walk you through exactly what was done and answer any technical questions
